Wi-Fi arrives at 41 London Underground stations

Virgin Media is now bringing 41 of London’s underground stations a free internet service, which over the last 4 weeks has already served more than 100,000 underground passengers.Â

Commuters are now able to gain access to the web from the ticket hall to the train platform, but will still have to deal with the internet blackouts once the train leaves the platform.

Passengers are able to access any website or internet services for free until the end of the summer. After that the Wi-Fi portal will continue to be free for Virgin Media customers however non-Virgin media customers will have to pay extra for access to the Internet.

By the end of 2012, Virgin Media Wi-Fi is expected to be connected to around 120 stations. To find out which underground stations are connected, check out Virgin's station guide for the full up-to-date list of Wi-Fi-enabled stations.
