The QR codes craze

There is a lot of talk in the Estate Agency industry about QR codes and how they can help sell houses.

You may have noticed that we’ve previously written about QR codes. Firstly explaining QR codes and then about a new service called Paperlinks.

For those that are unsure, QR codes are simply a square barcode that can be scanned by a smart phone to open a website link.

This means that Estate Agents have the opportunity to take property searchers directly from offline advertising (such as For Sale boards) directly to the individual property page. Consequently this gives the smart phone user a digital copy of the property without any print costs to the Estate Agent.

Of course, one of the downsides to QR codes is that the property searchers have to own a smart phone in order to access this information.

How do I make one?

There are many websites that will create QR codes for free such as bit.ly (primarily a link shortening website) but remember that even typing in “QR code generator” into Google will provide you with a website that will create a QR code.

It is then up to Estate Agents to integrate this technology into their marketing material and watch as their Estate Agent website visitor numbers increase from buyers with real potential.
