Facebook messenger

Facebook is not only the largest social network in the world but also the largest in the UK. With just under 40% of the population on Facebook, it is impossible to ignore when the social network giant releases news.

Luckily for you Facebook does have news for its users this week! They have announced the release of the Facebook messenger app.

Facebook messenger is very similar to the service BlackBerry Messenger, allowing users to instantly message each other over the internet which, as long as they are within their data allowance, will be completely free.

Not only can you instantly text and image message other Facebook users, but Facebook messenger also lets you set up group chat which is perfect if you’re trying to arrange a meeting. On top of that, all contacts in conversations can be placed on a map – eliminating any people who lie when asked how far away they are…

Luckily for non-smart phone users the service is available over text, which is odd, you might as well text each other…

It is currently not available in the UK, but give it time.
