An online revolution: 5 years in the making

 

Today is ablaze with messages congratulating @twitter on its 5th birthday. With 3.2 million users in the UK, twitter is continually used as a source of breaking news in the media as well as a communication tool for personal and business.

The first ever tweet was by Jack Dorsey, one of the founders of twitter on the 21st of March 2006 with the message ‘just setting up my twttr’. Not the most riveting message but it was the start of something that would take the internet by storm.

5 years later, with 1 billion tweets per week and 40% of these originating from a mobile, it started an internet revolution that has materialised into the offline world.

Estate Agents up and down the country now integrate their social media with their offline marketing to produce a vast increase in traffic to their Estate Agent website.
