Twitter is great for finding out what people actually want to read, it’s up-to-date and allows you to see what’s trending.

Alltop is a great place to find inspiration. Basically it’s a list of recent posts from all the best blogs around the web, covering pretty much any topic you can think of. Simply select a topic you wish to search for and you will see the posts relating to that field. This allows you to see what the best bloggers in the industry are writing about. If you scan through some of these posts you may be inspired.

Topsy

Topsy allows you to enter a word or phrase to search for recent blog posts, tweets, etc containing these search terms. You can filter to just see tweets, videos, photos, etc, as well as filter by time. You will find by skimming through these results it may spark some inspiration for a great blog post.
