The SmartNewsHomes.com survey found that 94per cent indicated that they would pay more, for additional outdoor space for children to play and more room, as opposed to many apartments which are currently flooding the market.

David Bexon, managing director of SmartNewHomes.com said "The continued migration away from London to surrounding, more rural areas indicates that buyers of all ages are prepared to sacrifice their London lifestyle for the more spacious suburbs where gardens and driveways are easier to come by".

Adding that "Young families are keen to settle into a new property that will provide them will all of the space they need, with gardens for their children to play in and plenty of room to accommodate a growing family". Indicating that buyers are demanding more for their money.
