Why people may be using your competition over you

The first thing the user will take into account when landing on your website will be the visual appeal. This is where most estate agency websites lose out on potential clients, your design has to be aesthetically pleasing to hold the users attention and make them want to delve deeper.

It’s truly amazing how awful some websites really look and what’s even more worrying is that the owners of the site think it’s acceptable. They cover the webpage with irrelevant imagery, stupid fonts and poor grammar, deterring the user away from their website at first glance.

With web design simplicity is always better, simple graphics, great text and imagery will give the website a professional, trusted feel as well as being user-friendly.

Here are the 3 main reasons why you will be losing out on potential clients:

 1.       Not visually pleasing

The visual appeal is extremely important to your website. It is important that the prominent image on your homepage is relevant to your business or the opening statement.

Your visitors should know what they are getting within a few seconds of arriving. First impressions are one of the most important factors for a website. Generally speaking you only have 3 seconds to impress the visitor with your website so don’t waste it with clutter and distracting imagery.

 2.       Outdated content

Keeping a website up-to-date is a time consuming and difficult job but is crucial to maintaining a viable and trusted page. A website with regularly changing content is important to keeping your web traffic constantly flowing. Without new content your website is likely to fall into the void never to be found again.

3.       Poor grammar and spelling mistakes

Nothing makes you look more unprofessional and incompetent than a website full of spelling mistakes and poor grammar. You may think people don’t read all your content but trust me your readers will pick up on it.

Make sure your website has been proofread over and over again by multiple people. People are less likely to use your services if they don’t think you are a credible business.
