The first thing you need to be wary of when creating the content for your website is if you are using the correct grammar and spelling. You are likely using a tool that provides you with a spell check option but there isn’t any tools out there to make sure you are using the right grammar.

You should get someone else to check over the content you have produced before you make it live on the site to ensure the content reads correctly.

Don’t plagiarise

I can’t stress this enough. Don’t copy your content from someone else’s website. Plagiarism is frowned upon within the search engines and is likely to result in your content simply being ignored.

To maintain good SEO your content must be written naturally by you.

Keep it short and to the point

These days’ people want content to be short and easy to read. This is because they need to be able to find what they are looking for quickly as most people online are in a rush. If you must have a lot of content on a certain subject, be sure to break it apart into more readable sections.

Don’t complicate things by overloading the page with content. Keep it simple and the layout neat so that people can scan through the page quickly to find what they are looking for.

Include the words that you want to be optimised for

This may sound like a no brainer but you would be surprised about the amount of websites that don’t include the simple phrases they are looking to show up for within the search engines.

Be sure to have the key phrase within the title of the page and mentioned within the content. However don’t fill the page up with your key phrase either, as it can have a negative effect on your SEO.

Produce new content frequently

Your website will only do well if the content keeps your visitors interested. This means you have to update your website regularly with interesting and informative articles.

 

Finally, you need to be patient as things won’t just happen overnight. If you follow these points you should see your website performing better over time.
