The History of Mobility Friendly Homes

Having launched back in 2005 with a Resource Techniques website, in 2007 they won the Daily Mail Best Portal Award (coming second to Rightmove).  They went into the doldrums with the recession, and it is only because of developments with Resource Techniques software and Zoopla’s growth that have made it practical to re-launch.

Mobility Friendly Homes are purely an advertising site and do not charge a fee or commission. They offer properties to buy or rent and these come from agents and house builders. As all new developments have to be accessible it would help an agent win instructions if they suggested advertising through MobilityFriendlyHomes.co.uk to people who actually want good access. We say “want” because many buyers recognise that an accessible property is good for anyone. 

The snag

Many agents are wary about taking on mobility friendly properties because they are embarrassed and do not know how to promote them.  Also, they are reluctant to spend on additional advertising.  However, when their clients realise that we exist they are often asked to advertise with us and the vendor pays Mobility Friendly Homes direct for this service we provide.
