Google Street View improves website

Google street view was launched almost an astonishing 3 years ago. Within days of Google Street view opening to the UK, Resource Techniques had upgraded our Estate Agent websites to include this highly anticipated and feared function.

Then on March 11th 2010, Google upgraded the UK’s Street View coverage to include an incredible 96%. This was a lengthy campaign where they faced many privacy concerns and even some cases of village residents blocking the Google car from proceeding.

At this juncture, we must urge Estate Agents to read this article, ‘Do you have Google Street view on your Estate Agent website?’.

In recent news, Google have released an improved version of the website that explains everything that you need to know about Street View.

As soon as you access the Google Street View website, you are greeted by the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town, South Africa. The sun is shining and the view has rich shades of green – maybe not something you want to look at in an office.

Delving deeper in the website Google gives us the chance to learn exactly what street view is, how to use it, the technology behind and a privacy page giving vital information as well as how users can report a concern directly to Google.

On the last page they included a variety of galleries of Street View images around the world. Estate Agents should take a few minutes to click some amazing views including a rainbow in front of the Notre dame Cathedral in Paris, France.
