Google predict that 1 billion people will primarily use Mobile for their Internet access in 2012

Google has recently offered up new Smartphone user survey data and their predictions for Mobile in 2012.

Over the past year mobile has exploded, increasing visibility for Estate Agents on the web and driving more traffic to their websites.  But how do people use mobile search?

The data shows that almost all Smartphone users search via a mobile with 96% using it and 81% of them searching once a week or more.

Mobile application usage is also highly popular with Smartphone owners. In the UK Smartphone users on average have 23 apps installed at any one time, 6 of which have been paid for. However these Apps are only used 8 times a month on average. Â

The data also shows that Smartphone owners are spending a lot of time watching videos and using social networks but the most shocking stats were on how consumers use their Smartphone’s to help them make purchase decisions.

Google found that 51% of Smartphone owners in the UK phoned up the Estate Agent after visiting their mobile website and 40% actually visited the business location.
