Estate Agents: Another Google change

Last week Estate Agents may have noticed Google changed the rankings for Estate Agent websites. Resource Techniques wrote an article on ‘The new Google places results page and how it will affect your estate agency SEO’ covering the complete changes and how it will affect each Estate Agent website.

Today, some Estate Agents may have noticed that Google have made another change – Google Instant Previews.

By typing in a search term, Estate Agents will see that Google have added a small magnifying glass next to the title tag (the blue text that links to each website). Once the magnifying glass icon is clicked, Estate Agents will see a box appear on the right that contains a graphical representation of their Estate Agent website – if their own Estate Agent website appears in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Page).

Since the change has only happened, we at Resource Techniques can only speculate its effect without any testing.

This change, if adopted by property searchers in the UK, could very well mean that the aesthetic aspect of the homepage will be given greater influence.

Estate Agent websites that look out of date, untidy or even unprofessional will lose traffic as a result as Google has made it even easier to flip or even compare Estate Agent websites against each other.

Estate Agents must make sure that Chance was not a word in their web designer’s dictionary.
