Create More Effective Call-To-Actions

Call-to-actions are one of the most important elements to any web page. There is no point of creating something if there isn’t a purpose and the same goes for your website. Each page should aim to move the user closer to the final goal and you can accomplish this with call-to-actions.

However, not all call-to-actions are equal. Here are 5 tips to help you create stronger, more effective call-to-actions:

1) Be direct

Say exactly what it is that you want your audience to do. There is no reason for you to beat around the bush. Want them to search for properties? Say it. Want them to sign up for property alerts? Tell them. Whatever you want them to do, be direct and straightforward.

2) Include action words

A call-to-action requires your audience to take action. If they need to click a button, search for something or complete a form then tell them clearly what they need to do with action words.

3) Include a unique selling point

As an estate agent you are all offering the same thing but what makes you different? Use your call-to-actions in a way to make you stand out from your competition.

How will completing the call-to-action benefit them? Make sure you tell them.

4) Use contrasting colours

You want your call-to-actions to stand out, the bigger the impact it has the more effective it will be. The last thing you want is for your call-to-action to blend into the background.

Having contrasting colours is a great way to draw people’s eyes so ensure you use them.

5) Prominently positioned

People tend to scan a page before fully reading it. This means people aren’t likely to scroll down the page straight away so ensure all your call-to-actions are placed above the fold in a prominent place.

Call-to-actions don’t usually work as well in the sidebar so place them in the centre of the page so they are clearly visible as soon as the user lands on the page.
