Considering Apple’s first tablet took 80 days to hit the same figures, it’s certainly clear that the new iPad is a huge hit. The tablet has sold three million units worldwide after its launch last week. As per usual Apple fans queued up for days outside their stores to be the first with the new HD tablet.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said “The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold?the strongest iPad launch yet”.
The new iPad will be launched in a further 80 countries this week and queues of hundreds of people are already lining up for the latest iPad.
Everyone seems to love the new features of the iPad, including the stunning Retina display which has been very highly praised.
A fan was quoted saying it is “the most spectacular display I have ever seen in a mobile device”.
Apple has squeezed in four times the pixels into the new iPad compared to the iPad 2 and is said the screen also has a million more pixels than an HDTV.
