Apple is now the most valuable company ever!

On Monday morning, Apple’s valuation reached $621.64 billion making them the most valuable company in history.

Early Monday afternoon Apple’s stock also reached an all-time high of $664.65 per share. This was due to the strong sales projections for its next generation iPhone, the highly anticipated iPhone 5.

The previous record was held by Microsoft at its pike in 1999.

The predictions for the iPhone 5 have suggested that it will blow its predecessors out of the water with the device set to sell 250 million units over its lifetime, for a total of $144 billion in revenue.

And to put this into perspective, Apple has made $50 billion in revenue from all the iPhones combined so far in the U.S.

This isn’t really a surprise however as Apple became the most valuable company in the US back in mid 2011, beating Exxon Mobil to the top spot.
