What Will The New iPhone Be Called?
12 September, 2018 | Technology
There are only a few hours to go until the next generation iPhones are unveiled.
Apple is expected to drop three new iPhones and while most are excited to find out the details of what will be revealed at the event, many are still wondering what Apple will decide to call their next generation iPhones…
The three new iPhones that we can expect to see will be an iPhone X type upgrade, a Plus version and a cheaper LCD model.
But what will Apple call the three devices?
Here is a list of potential names analysts and experts have suggested:
- iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus
- iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Plus
- iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone and iPhone Plus
- iPhone XC
- iPhone XR (budget version)
The name that appears to be most likely is the iPhone XS, however there have been claims that Apple doesn’t like this name due to the fact that XS suggests ‘extra small’ or ‘excess’.
The latest claims suggest that the Plus sized iPhone will be called the ‘iPhone XS Max’ and that Apple also toyed with using the ‘iPhone XSL’.
Other reports have said that Apple has been struggling with naming of the next generation iPhone and that the company has altered the name multiple times.
So, what do you think Apple will call the iPhone X successor?
Whatever it is, you don’t have very long to wait until Apple officially unveils the iPhones at 6pm this evening! Stay tuned to find out all you need to know about everything Apple unveils today…
