The MacBook Air is about to get even thinner

Many thought that the MacBook Air was now an obsolete device and was soon to be dropped by Apple, however new reports have suggested otherwise…

With the arrival of Apple’s very impressive 12 inch MacBook earlier this year, many Apple fans could no longer see the advantages of the MacBook Air considering the new MacBook offers a much better performance in a lighter, thinner package.

Yes, you heard that right. The MacBook Air is heavier and thicker than the new MacBook.

And with the 13 inch iPad Pro having just been released for the professional on the go, the MacBook Air doesn’t really seem to have a place in the market anymore meaning it is likely to be discontinued.

However, according to a report it looks like Apple is making a new MacBook Air which may be released in the near future.

Economic Daily News claims that Apple will be releasing a brand new, slimmer MacBook Air in a 13 inch and 15 inch model.

The report gave very little away in terms of the specification but they did say that these new models of the MacBook Air will be on sale in the third quarter of 2016, which could mean an unveiling at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

If these rumours are true, it looks like Apple will have 3 different laptop devices on sale, the MacBook Air, the MacBook and the MacBook Pro, ranging between 12 to 15 inches…

Many have suspected that the MacBook Air will be Apple’s budget laptop leaving out the Retina Display, etc in order to keep prices lower which would please a lot of Apple fans.

However, Economic Daily News doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to Apple rumours so don’t get your hopes up too much for a budget Apple laptop.
