Potentially, the most powerful smartphone in the world

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be released in early 2016 (possibly as early as January 2016) and although Samsung has yet to say anything about their next generation Galaxy S, rumours have started pouring in steadily already.

The latest rumours are geared towards it alleged processor, which if true will be extremely powerful.

According to sources, Samsung are going to ditch its own Exynos processor and replace it with Qualcomm’s almighty Snapdragon 820 chipset.

We know that numbers aren’t everything when it comes to the actual performance of the device but that doesn’t mean the results from the Snapdragon 820 chipset aren’t extremely impressive.

Amazingly, the processor reached a maximum speed of 2.2GHz, blowing Apple’s A9 processor out of the water.

The Galaxy S7 is also rumoured to have a 4GB of RAM, which alongside the Snapdragon 820 chipset could mean it will be the most powerful smartphone in the world when it is released early next year.

Hopefully, this extremely powerful smartphone won’t have any issues with overheating like the Snapdragon 810 had at its release. However, we expect Samsung will include a more powerful and more efficient processor that will run coolers alongside it to ensure it doesn’t overheat.

It is hard to tell if this rumour is likely to be true but it would be quite surprising to see Samsung using Qualcomm over its own Exynos processor, especially as the Galaxy S6’s processor is so impressive.

What else can we expect from the Galaxy S7?

Unfortunately, very little is known about the Galaxy S7 but we aren’t likely to see much of a change in the design due to Samsung having renovated the S6 just this year.

Here’s what else we can expect:

1) Better battery life

2) Possibly more focused towards Virtual Reality

3) Improved camera

4) More robust design (waterproof/dustproof)
