Norad Santa Tracker, now in 3D!

This Christmas, you will be able track Santa more closely than ever before, thanks to Norad. This year the popular Santa tracker platform Norad has released a new 3D globe that allows you to pinch and zoom to track Santa in real time.

This year Microsoft has partnered up with Norad, who have been tracking Santa on Christmas Eve for more than 50 years. Their website is now full of Christmas games (unlocked everyday via an Advent Calendar), music, videos, a library where you can learn more about Christmas as well as new ways to get live updates about Santa’s whereabouts on Christmas Eve!

Most of the content is the same as previous years but the website has been upgraded to be more fun, easier to use and more visually pleasing.

New features:

Games – this resembles an Advent Calendar, with a new game being unlocked each day leading up to Christmas.

Music – 23 Christmas song classics are available to listen to including ‘Sleigh Ride’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’.

The Theatre – featuring videos about Santa and Norad

The Library – this reveals details about Santa’s history, a detailed specification regarding Santa’s sleigh (including what it uses for fuel and how much it weighs at take-off with gifts included) and holiday traditions from around the world.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve the tracking will begin and the 3D globe will light up when Santa takes off. You will be able to click and spin the globe or if you access the website via a tablet the user will be able to spin the globe with their fingers and pinch and zoom to get a closer look.
