Apple Reveals All Macs And iOS Devices Are Vulnerable To Meltdown And Spectre

Have you updated your iOS devices yet?

Apple revealed that almost all of its devices are vulnerable to the Meltdown and Spectre bugs which affects processors made by Intel and other chip makers.

The tech company released a statement where they confirmed that all of its Mac and iOS devices are affected by the bugs known as Meltdown and Spectre.

The only Apple product that is in fact safe is the Apple Watch.

The company said, “These issues apply to all modern processors and affect nearly all computing devices and operating systems. All Mac systems and iOS devices are affected, but there are no known exploits impacting customers at this time.”

Apple also said to only download software from “trusted sources” like the App Store as most exploits are from apps with malicious code.

Apple has now addressed the bug with its own software updates for MacOS (10.13.2), iOS (11.2), and tvOS (11.2), so make sure you download them as soon as possible.

These updates can be downloaded through the Settings app on an iPhone or iPad, or through the App Store on a Mac.

These bugs will also affect the likes of Google and Microsoft who have also issued patches meant to address the vulnerabilities.

Apple has advised users to follow the same advice that all of the other manufacturers’ have been saying which is to update all software, be vigilant about what website you are accessing and to be wary of what you are downloading and only download from trusted websites.
