Twitter’s Testing New Tweetstorm Feature

Twitter is potentially changing things up again; first they doubled its character limit to 280, now Twitter has confirmed they are testing a new feature to make it easier for users to tweetstorm.

What is Tweetstorming?

A tweetstorm is a series of connected tweets that has usually been used as a work around for Twitter’s character count limitations. It enables users to tell stories and share thoughts without the restrictions of 140/280 characters.

The New Feature

The new feature is currently in the test phase and is only live to people who are part of Twitter’s experiments program.

The feature offers a new interface for composing tweets, where users who want to tweetstorm can write multiple tweets in a single thread then tweet them all at once at the click of a button.

At this time it isn’t clear if there are any limitations but it appears each tweet still has the new 280 character limit.

This new feature would make it a lot easier to create and follow tweetstorms, so it could be a popular feature if rolled out to all Twitter users.

Twitter is still in the test stages of this new feature, but due to the direction Twitter is going in with lengthening tweets, it is likely we will see this feature rolled out in the next few months.
