Facebook hits 2 massive milestones

Facebook is the world’s largest social platform and they have just announced that they are still growing even bigger.

The social giant has said that they had 1.59 billion monthly active users worldwide as of December 31st 2015, which is up 14% from last year.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder and CEO said while announcing their results “2015 was a great year for Facebook. Our community continued to grow and our business is thriving, we continue to invest in better serving our community, building our business and connecting the world.”

Not only are Facebook seeing more active monthly users and higher revenues, they have also reached a massive milestone with Facebook users now viewing over 100 million hours of videos every day.

This makes Facebook a serious competitor to YouTube in terms of video viewings and shows us how Facebook are adapting to the modern world and creating new ways to attract users.

Facebook also hit another milestone this week, as Facebook’s Whatsapp messenger has reached one billion monthly active users.

Whatsapp has now join the other 8 apps that have 1 billion active monthly user which includes Facebook, Google Search, Google Chrome, Google Maps, YouTube, Android, Google Play and also as of this week Gmail.

This is up from 800 million monthly active users which was reported at the end of last year.
