The Most Downloaded Apps of 2017

 

Apple has unveiled the most download apps of 2017 and Snapchat has come out on top, despite having a pretty rough year.

Snapchat did take the crown in 2016, but it has slipped down to number 2 this year, with Snapchat’s Bitmoji taking the top spot.

Bitmoji has seen a massive 5000% visitor growth over the last year and a half after Snap acquired BitStrip, the makers of Bitmoji and integrated the app’s customisable emoji’s into the Snapchat app.

The majority of apps on this list won’t come as much of a surprise as they are the usual contenders for this list, however ridesharing app Uber managed to make it into the top 10 and their rival Lyft made it to number 20.

As for paid apps, Facetune took 1^st place, followed by Tabs & Chords and HotSchedules.

Apple also announced their picks for the best apps of the year with the meditation app Calm being named the best iPhone app of the year and Splitter Critters being named best iPhone game of the year.
