The 10th Anniversary iPhone Name Revealed

There’s a lot of anticipation for the 10th anniversary flagship iPhone, even more than usual when it comes to new iPhone releases and this is mostly down to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook hinting that there are “exciting things in the pipeline”.

However, despite the new design, upgrades and features that we have to look forward to, there is a lot of speculation and buzz regarding what Apple are planning to call their 10th anniversary iPhone.

At this time, we don’t expect it to follow suit and be called the iPhone 8 due to this being a pretty big year for the iPhone.

Here’s a list of previously rumoured names of what they will be calling the next generation iPhone:

  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 10
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone Pro

Now it has been reported that the next generation iPhone will be called the iPhone Edition following in the footsteps of the high-end Apple Watch Edition, which costs a whooping £1,249.

The report came from a reliable Japanese blog called Mac Otakara, and it is thought that Apple will be using this name to reinforce its position as a high-end iPhone which will reportedly be sold alongside two more standard iPhone models.

The three models will include a standard model, a plus-sized device and the high-end exclusive iPhone Edition.

We can expect to see some radical design changes to the next generation iPhone with reports suggesting it will come with an edge to edge display, meaning things like Touch ID and the camera will be built into the display and that there won’t be a home button.

It is rumoured that Apple are currently testing more than 10 different iPhone prototypes so any of the leaks we see may not end up in the final product.

We are still a long way off Apple releasing the next generation iPhone but we can expect some big things. Stay tuned for the latest iPhone news and rumours…
