Apples next BIG project

Apple may be following in Google’s footsteps with their next BIG project. Rumour has it; the tech giant is designing and building an Apple car.

The rumour comes from Bryan Chaffin’s (co-founder of Mac Observer) unnamed source saying he is certain that Apple is working on building a car.

Another report from an Apple employee claims that Apple is working on something that will “give Tesla a run for its money”, which suggests this vehicle won’t just be wowing us with a famous Apple design.

Rumours so far

It is called Project Titan, the vehicle will be electric meaning it will be in direct competition with Tesla (some experts suggest Apple will acquire Tesla within the next 18 months).

The car could look like a minivan, however this could be changed by the time it hits the road.

The project already has hundreds of people working on it; including some senior figures from the automotive industry such as former Ford engineer Steve Zadesky who helped build the iPhone.

Apple has recently been poaching Tesla employees and currently has at least 50 former Tesla employees working for them.

Bryan Chaffin claims that his source tells him “a lot of people at the top in Silicon Valley consider it a given that Apple is working on a car." Chaffin himself is close to 100 percent certain the rumours are true.

Marc Newson, who has previously designed a concept car for Ford and is a friend of Jony Ive’s, joined the Apple last year to work on a “special project”.

Obviously, an Apple car isn’t something we are likely to see in the near future, if we ever see it at all.

The Apple car if it is happening is likely to take few years before it is completed and ready to hit the market, however this one looks like it could actually happen.
