Apple unveils new MacBook Pro and iMac

The rumours were true, Apple has announced a new range of 15 inch MacBook Pro’s as well as a new more affordable version of its 27 inch 5K Retina display iMac desktop.

The brand new 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina display comes with a number of new features ushered in with the unveiling of the 12 inch MacBook Pro earlier this year. These new features include a longer battery life, faster flash storage and it is equipped with the Force Touch trackpad.

Apple reports that the flash storage for the 15 inch MacBook Pro now works up to 2.5 times faster than previous MacBook Pros.

They also say the battery life has been increased by up to an hour compared to its predecessor.

We will also see a potential boost in graphics performance as they have included the new AMD Radeon R9 M370X discrete graphics card.

Apple has claimed that this makes the top model in the range 80 percent faster on the visual front.

The new 15 inch MacBook Pro starts at £1,599 and goes up to £1,999.

Apple also announced the release of the more affordable 5K iMac, which now starts at £1,599 compared to the original £1,849.

The new model comes with a 3.3GHz Intel Core i5 processor, Radeon M290 graphics, 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

There are also 4 USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt 2 ports.

What really makes the new iMac so impressive is the 27 inch 5K with its 5120 x 2880 resolution (which is exactly the same as the more expensive version).

Both the 15 inch MacBook Pro and the 27 inch 5K iMac are now available to order.
