New Features on Your Estate Agent Website
Good News Estate Agents!
As part of your monthly payments to Resource Techniques for your
company website, we have developers always working behind the
scenes to improve your sites functionality, introduce the latest
technology and work on new features at popular customer request. In
our latest release there is a lot of backend development that has
taken place but most importantly to you, three new features that
are visible to you and your customers on the front end of your
website which are the ones you really want to hear about and
available on your website today!
1. Map Pin Placement (for your office and your
properties)
We very often get calls telling us that the pin placement on the
Google map for a property is not right and actually the property is
quite a long way up the road the map says it on... This is a common
problem for most estate agents as the Google Maps facility works on
postcodes, one postcode can belong to many properties in one area
therefore when the pin is dropped in the centre of that postcode
area, it is most likely going to be wrong!
With so many requests for a way around this, I am now pleased to
confirm that there is a new feature to enable you to move the pin
placement on you company website for any of your properties and
your office location.
Properties placement
To do this, all you need to do is log in to www.rtadmin.co.uk
Click on 'Property Map Pin Placement' or
'Edit Stocklist' if you are a manual uploader.
Then click on the property you wish to move the pin for and
adjust accordingly. For Manual uploaders, you should click on
'Adjust map pin' next to the address of the property.
Office placement
To do this, all you need to do is log in to www.rtadmin.co.uk
Click on 'Contact Details' and then 'Agent map pin placement'
and adjust accordingly.
These changes will then be replicated out on your company
website.
2. Customisable Google Street View
You will all now be familiar with Google Street View which
stitches together photographic images of public roads and major
landmarks in British cities to create a three-dimensional map that
web users can click on to explore.
We integrated and released this new feature from Google to all
our sites back in April of this year. Unfortunately due to the huge
coverage it is not possible for Google to keep every street view as
up to date as homeowners would like it to be, meaning that the view
of their property is not always the most desirable for someone
selling their property with you!
We have therefore done the work to be able to turn street view
off, on a per property basis. Up until now it was only configurable
per site, but now you can do it per property!
All you have to do is log in to www.rtadmin.co.uk for the office that the
property belongs to, click on 'map pin placement'
and un tick the 'Google Street View' tick box,
Save and the map will disappear on your
company website.
Not every property in the UK has been covered by Google Street
View, but as and when it is, if you are not happy with the street
view for that property, you can log in and turn it off!
3. Price Ranges
We have had many requests to provide extra prices in the price
drop down menu on our property search facility. It used to have
large gaps between prices e.g. from £100,000 to £150,000
to £200,000 making it much more irritating for the user
searching for property within their desired price range. Now the
user has a few more options like £125,000 and £175,000
making the search experience that little bit more user friendly!
You can see the new price ranges when clicking on 'Property
Search' on your company website.
We hope you enjoy the new features that are now available to
you. We are always developing new features at customer request and
endeavour to accommodate your requests as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding any of the above features,
please email websites@restech.co.uk
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
